A HOMELY garden where everyone feels welcome is celebrating a hat trick. ‘The Garden Isn’t Finished Without You’ is the first design at the RHS Tatton Flower Show sponsored by the Methodist Church.
Bright, colourful and diverse planting reflects how people are all different.
Judges awarded three top accolades, naming it best show garden and bestowing the RHS environment innovation award as well as a gold medal.
Rev Sincere Makunde, from Knutsford Methodist Church, said: “I’m so excited.
“This is an inclusive garden where everyone is united.
“We are all different like the flowers and everyone has got their path to take in this garden.”
The choice of materials is rich in symbolism.
Recycled colourful stone paving is a subtle nod to the colours of the rainbow and pride flags.
Cork walls wrap round the boundary to create a soft and textural sanctuary, with large fig trees providing shelter.
The garden will be moved to Mobberley Methodist Church to become a wellbeing space.
