A PASSENGER who failed to buy a tram ticket has been hit with a £400 court bill.
Holly Jones, of Plumley Moor Road, Knutsford, pleaded guilty to entering a Greater Manchester Metrolink vehicle on January 9, this year, at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on July 1.
The 34-year-old did not have a valid ticket or lawful reason to be there, the court heard.
Jones was fined £200 and ordered to pay £120 costs and £80 victim surcharge.
Magistrates took her guilty plea into consideration when imposing the sentence.
The defendant was given until July 29 to pay the £400 court penalty.
