A MYSTERY reader pops into a nursery every month.

Children at Kids Country Day Nursery in Over Peover never know who is going to walk through the door.

PCSO Carlos Paulo from Knutsford recently came in to read a selection of stories.

The officer spent time chatting to the children and answering questions.

Afterwards, the girls and boys were able to try on police coats and helmets and sit in a support vehicle.

Rebekah Earl, early years teacher at Kids Country Day Nursery, said: “Each month I get someone to read to a class.

“These people can be someone with an interesting job or a parent or someone that may be doing something relating to celebrations around the area.

“Wee do this to expose children to people they may not see around often.

“It gives them a chance to learn about how people help us or do different jobs.

“Sometimes this involves bringing in props.

“This is something we have been doing for about a year and we’re always looking for new people to come in and read to our children.”

Parents who speak different languages also come into the classroom to support children who have English as an additional language.
