A SUMMER festival for children in need has been hailed a huge success.

Bright Horizons Clairmont Day Nursery and Preschool in Wilmslow hosted the celebration to raise funds for vulnerable children and families facing crisis and disadvantage.

The fun event featured an array of activities, including face painting, pony petting, cake stall, and barbecue.

Local businesses in Wilmslow generously donated prizes for a raffle, with all proceeds going to the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children.

The foundation provides equipment, furniture, toys, games, books, resources and volunteers to create and sustain Bright Spaces, in partnership with organisations which include, the Police Service, Refuge, Women’s Aid refuges, HM Courts and Tribunals Service, HM Prison Service, hospitals and hospices, and homeless accommodation.

Enriching play environments are designed to help children heal from trauma caused by domestic violence, abuse, homelessness, parental imprisonment and ill health.

Angela Brandwood-Greene, nursery manager at Clairmont Day Nursery and Preschool, said: “I want to thank each and every person who attended our open day.

“We raised an incredible £1,000 for the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children.

“These funds will contribute massively to the wonderful work of the foundation.”
