ENTHUSIASTIC gardeners sharing their passion for flowers and plants have raised a whopping £16,823 for charity.
Despite the cold and rain, 15 gardeners welcomed visitors for Goostrey Open Gardens last month.
More than 800 tickets were sold.

Ten new gardens were introduced alongside five from last year.
A charity plant sale was held on the Bogbean, Goostrey’s village green.
Ice cream from Bidlea Dairy, a Goostrey Flower Club display and Clementine, a mobile horsebox bar from the Space Invader pub were among the many attractions.
Refreshments were served in many of the gardens.
The proceeds will be shared between East Cheshire Hospice, Congleton foodbank and St Luke’s Hospice.
Since the event was launched three years ago, almost £44,000 has been raised for various charities.
Organisers wish to say a huge ‘thank you’ to everyone who helped to make the day such a success.
Next year will be a fallow year to give gardeners and organisers a well-earned break.
Plans are already under way to run the next event in 2026.
