A DRIVER clocked speeding through roadworks on a motorway has been hit with a £460 court penalty.
Neil Matthews, of Moor Lane, Wilmslow, pleaded guilty to exceeding a temporary 40mph speed limit at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on June 10.
The 62-year-old was caught on camera driving a Tesla Model Y Long Range in Salford on the M62 westbound between junction 11 and 10 at 74mph on September 13, last year.
A temporary speed limit of 40mph was in place as part of the Manchester Smart Motorway Scheme.
Matthews was fined £174 and ordered to pay £174 victim surcharge and £120 costs.
His driving licence was also endorsed with six points.
Magistrates gave him until July 8 to pay the £468 court penalty.
