RESIDENTS are being invited to join the procession at this year's Civic Sunday parade through Knutsford.
New town mayor Cllr Colin Banks will be taking part in this annual 'introduction' event on Sunday, June 30.
Led by air cadets from the Knutsford Squadron Air Training Corps, the mayor will process through the town's streets alongside community representatives and visiting dignitaries from across Cheshire.
Assembling at 1.45pm in the King Street car park, the parade will set off at 2pm along King Street, Minshull Street, Princess Street, Church Walk and across the Moor, with members of the community welcome to join the procession.
The parade will conclude at St Cross Church where a civic service will take place, led by reverends Paul Deakin and Steven Benson.
Town mayor Cllr Banks said: “I am very much looking forward to Civic Sunday this year.
"Hoping the weather holds out for the parade, and that we can keep up with the air cadets.
"The service in church will be an inclusive community event for people of all faiths or none."
During his term of office, Cllr Banks is raising money for Just Drop In and The Welcome, and he will be hosting a wide variety of fundraisers throughout the year.
