CRICKETERS from a Knutsford club will be taking on England legends to help raise money for a new pavilion.

Toft CC is looking to build a new facility at its Chelford Road home, providing better amenities for players and spectators alike.

As part of its fundraising efforts, the club is hosting a special T20 cricket match and luncheon on Thursday, June 20.

The match, starting at 4.15pm, will feature a number of ex-professionals, while the four-course luncheon event will also include an auction, a Q&A session and a meet and greet.

A Toft CC spokesperson said: "The primary goal of this event will be to raise funds for the construction of a new pavilion at the Toft Cricket Club.

"This new facility aims to enhance the club’s infrastructure, providing better amenities for players and spectators, and fostering the growth of cricket in the community."

As well as raising funds for a new pavilion, the event will also support causes such as The Welcome Café and Toft Taverners.

The Welcome is a cherished community hub in Knutsford which ensures families can access support for housing, education, healthcare and food.

The Taverners are dedicated to supporting the elderly, organising events and trips offering them companionship.

The spokesperson added: "Donations from the fundraiser will bolster their initiatives, ensuring that they can continue to provide much-needed support and social opportunities for Knutsford’s elderly residents."

Following the fundraising match, is The Welcome Funday on Sunday, June 23.

From 1pm at Toft Cricket Club, visitors can enjoy a range of activities and entertainment, from live music to sporting games.

There will also be a barbecue, a licensed bar, cakes for sale, and a raffle with proceeds going to The Welcome.
