FIVE fire engines were called to a disused building in Knutsford following reports of a fire.
Fire fighters were called to the building on Bexton Road at around 4.50pm this afternoon, Sunday.
Crews are using two breathing apparatus and hose reel jets to combat the fire internally and an extended jet is being used to conduct external firefighting.
Five fire engines from Lymm, Holmes Chapel, Northwich, Middlewich and Greater Manchester, as well as supporting aerial appliance, were called to the scene.
An aerial ladder platform has been established to supply water and damp down hotspots.
The number of fire engines present at the scene has now been reduced to three.
Fire fighters have checked properties adjacent to the building for any fire spread.
The incident is currently ongoing and crews are expected to remain at the scene for some time.
