A VEHICLE has overturned after a collision on the M56 Eastbound, leading to three miles of traffic and long delays.
The incident, which is believed to have taken place at around 1.20pm this afternoon, Wednesday, has left traffic at a stand still near Junction 6, for Manchester Airport, and Junction 7, Bowdon.
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene and to deal with the incident.
"At 1pm on Wednesday, June 5, police were called to reports of a collision on the M56 Eastbound between Junction 6 and 7," a spokesperson for Cheshire Police said.
"The collision involved two vehicles, one of which had overturned.
"One driver is believed to have suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
"The road was shut while the incident was dealt with but reopened at around 3.20pm."
National Highways took to X, formerly Twitter, to confirm that North West Motorway police are also in attendance to assist with traffic management.
