A MAJOR road has reopened after police restrained a man on a bridge over a dual carriageway.
Police were called after a man was reported on a bridge over the A34 shortly after 8am this morning, Wednesday.
The A34 was closed both ways between Handforth Dean and the roundabout with Dean Row Road whilst emergency services dealt with the incident.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "A man was on a bridge over the A34 just after 8am.
"Officers restrained him and he has gone to hospital to be assessed."
The road has now reopened.
