A FORMER teacher has written a third book to help support parents and educators of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Georgina Durrant, from Holmes Chapel, was inspired to write her latest work after feeling frustrated many SEND children are not getting the support they need.
On June 6, the 37-year-old's third book - 'SEND Strategies for the Primary Years', published by Bloomsbury - will be released.
Georgina said: "With as many as 17 per cent of children in schools in England having some form of special educational needs (SEN), and waiting times of up to three to five years for a child to receive a formal diagnosis, there is a critical need for strategies teachers can use in the classroom and parents can use at home now.
"I hope that my book helps give teachers and parents strategies they can put in place to support children’s learning while they wait for diagnoses, assessment or support."
Georgina's previous books include '100 Ways Your Child Can Learn Through Play' and 'How to Boost Reading and Writing Through Play'.
The latest book contains practical strategies which are easy to implement and resource.
They are relevant to children impacted by a range of SEND including autism, PDA, ADHD, dyslexia, DCD, dyscalculia, sensory processing differences, speech, language and communication needs and more.
The book will be available on Amazon and in major bookshops.
