A FAMILY festival organised to help support a primary school has been hailed as an 'incredible' success.

Basking in glorious sunshine on May 17, the Knutsford community descended on Bexton Primary School for the PTA-organised event, 'Bexfest'.

With a variety of attractions for all ages, as well as live music and entertainment, an unforgettable evening of fun was had by all in attendance.

Bexton head teacher Emily Armstrong was delighted with the event, which raised more than £4,000 for the school towards the ongoing project of refreshing its astro-turf pitch.

Mrs Armstrong said: "What a fantastic night!

"The children and families had a wonderful time and were very much in the festival spirit.

"We were thrilled to see there was something for everyone of all ages and I can’t thank the team who helped coordinate the event enough.

"The support and sponsorship from our parents and local businesses was fantastic and shows what a wonderfully strong community we have in Knutsford."

Children and adults enjoyed fairground rides such as a helter-skelter, bungee trampolines, teacups, a ferris wheel, Strike It High, and a huge inflatable assault course, all included in the ticket price.

Additionally, there were fairground games, festival glitter decorations, craft areas, and marshmallow toasting stalls, providing endless fun and excitement.

In the evening, musical performances from Emma Gilmour, State of Flux, Instant Vintage, Start Without Me, and DJs Tim H & Kurt Williams, were a highlight.

In between the musical acts, Kirsty Drake (aka Dusty Dreams), a talented children’s entertainer, kept the young audience engaged.

Mrs Armstrong added: "Bexfest was a testament to the community spirit of Knutsford, bringing families together for a night of joy and celebration while supporting a great cause.

"The event highlighted the strength and generosity of the local community, promising even greater things for Bexton Primary School’s future."

Sponsors of the event include: Woods Butchers (meat for the barbecue), Booths (bread), Williams Build and Design Ltd (bar), Chips Agency (stage), HiRequirements (tables and seating), and Knutsford Town Council (deckchairs).
