POLICE have launched an investigation after a 17-year-old girl was raped on a night out in Knutsford.
Officers were called to reports of a serious sexual attack in the town centre between 11pm on Saturday, May 11 and 5am the following morning.
Police say the victim was in and around the town centre and Mobberley Road area when the assault happened.
The incident was reported to police shortly after 9pm on Sunday.

A 37-year-old man has been arrested and remains in custody.
The victim is being supported by officers and enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances.
DI Rob Lees said: “As part of our investigation we have arrested a 37-year-old man.
“He remains in custody while enquiries continue.
“I’d urge anyone who was in the areas of the town centre and Mobberley Road between the hours of 11pm on Saturday, May 11 and 5am on Sunday, May 12 to contact us with any information that may help us with our investigation.
“We understand this may cause some concern in the community and have increased in patrols in the area to provide reassurance.”
