SELFISH drivers have been slammed for blocking the front doors of Cheshire fire stations.
Cars have been found parked outside Wilmslow fire station on Altrincham Road and various other stations across the county.
If crews get a 999 call, they have to be able to respond immediately.
Vehicles causing an obstruction could delay them reaching an emergency.
Crews say this could mean ‘the difference between life and death’.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We have recently seen a number of vehicles parked at the front of our fire stations.
“Please refrain from doing this as it causes an obstruction and can delay our crews from responding to incidents.”
Emergency crews need to be able to get in and out of the fire station at any time.
Firefighters stress that every second counts when someone calls 999.
