WEDDING bells are ringing at forty venues across Mid Cheshire – and some are not where you might expect to be able to tie the knot.
Mid Cheshire has 13 hotels, abbeys, manors and restaurants with Cheshire West and Cheshire Council and 17 halls, barns and golf clubs with Cheshire East Council that are licensed for marriage ceremonies and wedding receptions.
Did you know you can get married at Tatton Park and Arley Hall?
If you want to go a little further afield, why not have your special day at Chester Zoo?
All hotels, pubs and bars, and function rooms can host wedding receptions but only 40 locations in Mid Cheshire are approved venues where legal marriage and civil partnerships can take place, after being granted approval by Cheshire West and Cheshire Council and Cheshire East Council.
Couples can say I do at hotels like Cottons and Mere Court as well as unique establishments like Vale Royal Abbey, Delamere Manor and Merrydale Manor.
Dove Barn and Hidden Barn at 94 in Knutsford are available for your big day as is Grange Barn at Grange Farm.
Sporting venues are on the list – High Legh Park Golf Club, Mere Golf & Country Club and Hartford Golf Club.
As well as hosting weddings, these establishments can also host naming ceremonies and vow renewals.
Weddings will be led by registrars at civil ceremonies and aren’t religious – if you would like to have a religious service, this will need to take place in a church or place of worship and be conducted by a religious official.
If you’re due to get married this year or you’ve already tied the knot in 2024, email heidi.summerfield@newsquest.co.uk to be appear in our special feature – ‘Our Wedding Day’.
