LONG queues are reported on the M6 southbound after a lorry struck a bridge, this morning, Wednesday.
Drivers are warned to expect delays between junction 17 and 16.
All lanes have now reopened but there is still heavy congestion.
Cheshire Police were called to reports of a collision at around 5.10am.
Officers attended and found that a HGV had collided with a bridge.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “The driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to Leighton Hospital as a precaution.”
Initially, three lanes of the motorway were closed as emergency crews worked at the scene.
Recovery and clear-up work is now complete.
Highways England say delays are clearing quickly.
Drivers should expect to add up to 30 minutes to their journeys.
