A DRIVER who got behind the wheel while 16 times the legal drug limit has been banned from the roads.
Camilla Key, of Holly Close, Holmes Chapel, admitted drug driving and appeared at Crewe Magistrates’ Court to be sentenced on February 6.
The 38-year-old was driving a Vauxhall Mokka on the road where she lives on July 17 last year when she was stopped by the police.
Subsequent tests revealed that she was over the limit for three drug substances.
A blood test recorded 800µg/L of Benzoylecgonine, a breakdown product of cocaine, in her system. The legal limit is 50µg/L.
A reading of 32µg/L of cocaine itself in her blood was also recorded. The legal limit is 10µg/L.
Tests also recorded 90µg/L of morphine per litre of blood. The legal limit is 80µg/L.
Key was disqualified from driving for 12 months.
Magistrates took her guilty plea into consideration.
The defendant was also ordered to pay £120 costs and £48 victim surcharge.
Key asked for the full court penalty to be deducted from her benefit within 14 days.
