DON'T travel is the advice being given by the police.
It comes as strong winds are set to batter the UK, with the arrival of Storm Isha expected this afternoon.
However, the bad weather appears to have arrived already in Cheshire, with police called out to a fallen tree which was blocking the road in Styal.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Special Constabulary said: "As part of a busy shift, special constables Sparks and Slinger attended this fallen tree in the road at Styal yesterday evening.
"Conditions are likely to be worse this evening so please don't travel unless it's necessary."
