RESCUE teams were deployed in Wrenbury to save a man who fell into a canal basin near to a pub.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service teams rushed to help after reports that a man had fallen in a basin on Wrenbury Heath Road at 9.11pm last night, January 13.
Four engines were deployed, as well as a water rescue unit, a rapid response rescue unit, a rope rescue unit, and an aerial ladder platform. Further, police were deployed in the area to locate the man who fell in.
After 90 minutes of work, the man was found and helped out of the water.
Following the conclusion of their work firefighters passed the man on to the care of the north west ambulance service.
He sustained injuries during the fall and was taken to hospital, however, they are not thought to be life-threatening.
Posts in local community groups showed concern for the number of blue lights in the area, stating the incident took place near the Dusty Miller pub in Wrenbury.
One post said: “Any news or update on the accident last night by Dusty Miller, prayers that all are safe.”
