City of Chester Brass Band accompanied the singing.
After the service, Knutsford Catenians served mince pies and mulled wine and treats for the children.
Knutsford mayor Cllr Peter Coan said: “It was lovely to see such a great turnout for the crib service on Saturday.
“Thanks to all those who helped make it such a lovely event.
“Thanks go to the children of St Vincent’s School for their beautiful singing and to the Catenians for providing the refreshments which warmed people on such a cold evening.”
