A DRIVER who got behind the wheel while four times the legal drug limit has been banned from the roads.

Daniel Taylor, of London Road, Holmes Chapel, admitted drug driving at Crewe Magistrates’ Court on November 23.

The 33-year-old was driving a Ford Fusion on Cledford Lane in Middlewich, on July 1, this year, when he was stopped by the police.

A subsequent test revealed he was over the legal drug limit.

A blood test recorded 200ug/L of Benzoylecgonine, an ingredient of cocaine in his system.

The legal limit for this product is 50ug/L.

Taylor was disqualified from driving for 36 months.

Disqualification is obligatory for drug driving offences, the court heard.

The defendant was also fined £120 and ordered to pay £120 costs and £48 victim surcharge.

Magistrates took his guilty plea into consideration when imposing the sentence.

The £288 court penalty is due to be paid in full within 14 days
