THE heartbroken family of a 'loving' grandad who died after being hit by multiple cars on the A50 have paid tribute to him.
Emergency services were called to the scene in High Legh at around 8.17pm on Monday, November 20 following the collision near the junction of Swineyard Lane.
On arrival, a pedestrian was found to have been hit by a number of vehicles.
Douglas Burke, aged 85, of High Legh, was sadly confirmed dead at the scene.
His family said: "On Monday, November 20, Douglas Burke tragically died after being involved in a road traffic accident in Cheshire.
"Douglas was enjoying his retirement, travelling around the UK and Europe when not playing golf or meeting with friends.
"He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandad, and we are all heartbroken by his loss.
"He will be missed by many people around the world."
Cheshire Police officers continue to investigate the collision and are still appealing for anyone with information or video footage which may assist their enquiries to get in touch.
