POLICE are searching for a man who stole more than £800 worth of alcohol from a Knutsford supermarket after he failed to appear at court.
Jonathan Farrell, formerly of Stanley Road, Manchester, had been due to appear at Crewe Magistrates Court for sentencing in July.
The 37-year-old had previously admitted stealing £820 worth of alcohol, including champagne, rosé and spirits, from Booths supermarket in Stanley Road, Knutsford, between May 5 and July 13.
But Farrell failed to appear the dock on July 24 prompting the bench to issue a warrant for his arrest.
Now Cheshire Police are appealing to the public for help in tracing him.
A police spokeswoman said: "Farrell is described as white, around 5’11” tall, of a slight build, with short brown hair and blue eyes.
"He has links to both Manchester and Cheshire.
"Anyone with any information about Farrell’s whereabouts should contact Cheshire Police via cheshire.police.uk/tell-us or call 101, quoting 23000673159."
