A TEENAGER was caught almost three times over the drink drive limit in the early hours of the morning.

The Roads and Crime Unit stopped a grey Volkswagen Polo on Bedells Lane in Wilmslow, shortly after 2am on Saturday, November 11.

Smelling alcohol, officers requested a roadside breath reading from the driver.

The breathalyser recorded 102 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.

The driver, a 17-year-old man from Wilmslow, was arrested and has since been charged with driving over the prescribed limit of alcohol.

He is due to appear at Crewe Magistrates Court on November 30.
