A DRIVER clocked speeding has been banned from the road ‘due to repeat offending’.
Lloyd Fennell, of Stocks Lane, Over Peover, Knutsford, was caught on camera on May 21, this year, driving a BMW people carrier towards Warrington on the A56 Chester Road in Preston Brook, Runcorn at 40mph.
The 49-year-old was not present at Chester Magistrates Court when the case was heard on October 23.
The defendant had pleaded guilty and was convicted at an earlier hearing on August 31.
The 30mph speed limit was signified by street lighting placed at less than 200 yard intervals, the court was told.
Magistrates sentenced him in his absence after listening to the evidence.
Fennell was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for six months ‘due to repeat offending’.
The defendant was also fined £220 and ordered to pay £110 costs and £88 victim surcharge.
Fennell was given until November 20 to pay the £418 court penalty.
