POLICE attended a major crash involving four vehicles on the M6 Southbound near Knutsford this afternoon, Saturday.
Traffic officers responded to reports of a road traffic collision at 1.19pm.
One out of four lanes had to be temporarily closed on the carriageway while officers attended to the collision between junction 19, Knutsford, and junction 18, Holmes Chapel.
Four vehicles were involved in the collision and closures were put in place while the vehicles were removed from the carriageway.
No injuries were reported from the incident and the lane was reopened shortly after.
A spokesperson from Cheshire Police said: "Police responded to an RTC on the M6 Southbound at 13.19hrs today.
"The incident involved 4 vehicles and the M6 Southbound was closed for a short period to allow for the removal of vehicles from the carriageway.
"No injuries were reported and the motorway re-opened shortly after."
