A NEW furniture store opening this week is proud to offer customers a bespoke ‘sofa for life’.
Arlo & Jacob have transformed the former Lloyds Bank on Alderley Road into a showroom.
The family-owned company opens its doors on Friday, August 25, and offers a lifetime guarantee on the frame of each item of furniture.

A range of sofas, chairs, footstools and rugs, designed to last, are made in a workshop by craftsmen and women.
Each order is individually upholstered by one pair of hands.
Managing director Lisa Broad said: “Our customers are getting something unique to them.
“We love the fact that our furniture is made the old-fashioned way by one person.
“We want it to be a ‘sofa for life’.
“Each order is bespoke and made specifically for you.
“You can feel really proud that people won’t have seen it before. Someone next door won’t have the same sofa as you.”
The company, named after the founder’s children, started eight years ago as a small brand in London.
As the firm expands, headquarters have now moved to Derbyshire.
This is the first showroom to open in Cheshire.
“Being on the high street is a big part of our strategy,” said Lisa.
“We are bucking the trend.
“It is so important to have a place where people can sit on a product, feel it and really get the vibe of how much choice we offer customers.
“Our frames are made from hard wood in the UK so your furniture not on a container coming across from China.”
More than 120 different fabrics are available or customers can provide their own material.
Free style consultations give people the chance to talk to a specialist.
Experts are on hand to tailor make furniture to fit in with customer’s floor plans, lighting and colour choice.
Orders take between five and seven weeks and the company has invested in its own delivery team and fleet of vehicles.
“We are incredibly proud to have our own delivery service,” said Lisa.
“It’s been a game changer.
“We can work with customers to make sure we can get the furniture into their home.
“We can remove arms before delivery if necessary so it gets through the front door.
“We want people to feel really happy and content with their purchase, from start to finish.
“We are really excited to be in this former bank.
“We’ve spoken to other retailers and it seems to be a really nice community.”
