USED glasses can give a new lease of life to people struggling with eyesight all over the world.
A spectacle recycling scheme has been restarted by Knutsford Lions.
Opticians across the town have offered to collect unwanted glasses to be distributed to third world countries.
Used spectacles are collected and sent to the Lions Club National HQ in Birmingham, where they are checked and sorted.
The recycled glasses are then sent on to Medico France who supply them to eye camps in Africa, India and Eastern Europe.

Lions member Penny Buttrick said: “Lions clubs nationally have recycled over one million pairs of spectacles in the last year.
“We are very grateful to the opticians in our area who participate, and members of the public who donate to this worthwhile scheme.”
Collections were stopped during the pandemic.
Richard Clare said: “ ‘I'm thrilled the Lions Club has restarted this wonderful recycling scheme.
“It's such an easy and rewarding way for people to give back – just by donating their old specs at our practice.
“Clare & Illingworth are honoured to be part of this initiative and contribute to the charity's efforts.”
Used spectacles can also be taken to Boots Opticians, Wendy Diddams in Knutsford, and Wheeldons in Wilmslow.
The Lions are always looking for community people to join their club.
