A KNUTSFORD driver has been banned from the road for being over the legal alcohol limit.
Roderick Heal, of Longridge, admitted having 50 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath at Crewe Magistrates Court on July 20.
The legal limit is 35 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
The 67-year-old was caught over the limit whilst behind the wheel of a Mitsubishi Shogun on Longridge on July 5, last year.
Heal was disqualified from driving for 14 months.
This ban can be reduced if he pays to complete a drink driving rehabilitation course before April 4, next year.
Drink driving is a criminal offence that carries an obligatory driving disqualification of a minimum period of 12 months.
Heal was also fined £286 and ordered to pay £200 costs and £114 victim surcharge.
Magistrates took his guilty plea into consideration when imposing the sentence.
The defendant must pay the £600 court penalty by August 17.
