A TEENAGE girl was honoured to make her debut as parade marshall at this year’s May Day Festival.
Thea Williamson led the procession through the streets of Knutsford on her young pony Nala.
The confident 13-year-old said she felt a bit nervous at first but soon got into her stride.

Knutsford-born mum Megan, said: “Thea did amazingly well and absolutely loved it.
“It was a great honour.
“I am really proud of her.”
Thea felt privileged to follow in the footsteps of the late Joe Gate, who led the procession for more than 40 years.
Megan said: “I knew Joe and for Thea to take this on, it’s quite a legacy to follow.
“She was honoured to be asked to take on the role that he did so well for so long.”
Weaverham High School pupil Thea has been riding since she was two but has only had Nala since September.
“It takes quite a special horse to cope with the excitement of May Day, said Megan.
“Nala is unflappable. She is very good natured and very trusting.
“Thea thinks Nala is very inquisitive and was interested in what people were doing.
“Nala and Thea had an amazing day and hope that everyone did too."
Megan would like to say a special thank you to The White Orchard Floral Boutique who kindly donated Thea's buttonhole.
