The area targetted included the boggy edge of the Moor Pool and Dog Wood where a great deal of litter was found.
Jon Barber, volunteer manager at Tatton Park, who joined the Friends said: “It was a very satisfying morning.
“I couldn't believe how many plastic bottles we found around the edge of the moor pool, bin bags full.”
Friends of the Moor host two litter picks each year, one in spring and one in the autumn.
Adam Keppel-Green, chairman of Friends of the Moor, said: “ANSA does a great job keeping the Moor free from litter on a day-to-day basis, so our litter picks always aim to reach the areas where the litter gathers.
“It was lovely to hear the thanks passed on to volunteers from those walking through the Moor and we were amazed by how much we managed to collect over the course of an hour and a half.”
A lot of litter has gathered by the Moor Pool and in Dog Wood, which the Friends plan to address later in the year.
Friends of the Moor is a small community group which works to represent users of the Moor.
They welcome new volunteers joining their committee.
They have recently raised funds for some trim trail items which will be installed in the summer.
