VILLAGERS are celebrating the launch of the second edition of a popular book.
‘Over Peover – A Cheshire Parish’ has been brought up to date to record events that have happened since the inaugural publication in 2002.
The first edition, which rapidly sold out, celebrated the late Queen’s Golden Jubilee.

The publication also captured activities and personalities in the village going back in time, richly illustrated with photos capturing the spirit of bygone days.
This latest edition of the book was launched at a special event held in Over Peover Village Hall.
Barry Wienholdt, co-author of the original publication and creator of the the new book spoke to residents alongside Philip Welch, chairman of Over Peover Parish Council.
Volunteers provided tea and cake as villagers bought copies of the new hardback edition of the book.
Additional chapters, illustrated with more than 50 colour photos, record significant events in the village since publication of the first book.
Celebrations to mark the centenaries of the local branch of the WI and the village school as well as the 75th anniversary of the cricket club are featured.
The book has been published by the parish council.
All proceeds will be used to mark the accession of King Charles III and the forthcoming merger of Over Peover and Snelson Parish Councils.
Anyone wishing to buy a copy of the book should contact Over Peover Parish Clerk at council@overpeover.com
