A DRIVER clocked speeding on a motorway has been hit with a court penalty of £1,300.
Peter Hopkins, of Downesway, Alderley Edge, pleaded guilty at Bodmin Magistrates Court on February 9 to exceeding the speed limit.
The 43-year-old was caught driving a Volvo on the M5 in Exeter on July 3, last year, at a speed exceeding 70mph.

The offence was reported by Devon and Cornwall police.
Hopkins was fined £906 and ordered to pay £90 costs and £362 victim surcharge.
Magistrates also endorsed his driving licence with six points.
The defendant’s guilty plea was taken into consideration when the sentence was imposed.
Hopkins was given until March 9 to pay the £1,358 court penalty
