SCHOOLCHILDREN and dog walkers are being warned of the dangers of a broken manhole cover on The Heath.
Abby Stratford spotted the hazard as she was walking her dog and has alerted residents to be vigilant.
The Knutsford mum said: “A small dog could fall down it or someone could break their leg quite easily.

“My main concern is that children walk across The Heath on their way to school.
“They’re often on their phones and are not looking where they are going.
“My friend’s dog went down it yesterday. Thankfully he is alright.”
The damaged manhole cover is near trees, around 300 metres from Tabley Road.
Adam Keppel-Green, clerk of Knutsford Town Council, said: “We have been alerted to the damaged manhole cover and have advised the owners of the Heath, asking them to expedite a repair in the interests of the safety of users.”
A contractor working for landowners Tatton Estates confirmed on Friday that a large stone slab will be put over the cracked manhole to make it safe until a repair can be carried out.
