A carer said: “Peggy received three cards from ladies she encouraged to keep working as nurses when times were bad for them in 1971.
“They were thanking her for all of her support and reassurance all those years ago!”
Peggy was over the moon to receive so many cards and messages.
Residents joined her family for a party with food, refreshments and cake.
Singer Colette Todd entertained everyone during the afternoon.
Home manager Sharon Short said: “Peggy is an absolute delight, she is so full of life.
“She’s always happy, loves to chat to everyone and is a pleasure to care for.
“To be 100 and be as mobile and young spirited as Peggy is inspirational.
“Knutsford firefighters came to visit her before the birthday to give her a card. She told them she was turning 51!
“This is a glimpse of her wicked sense of humour.
“We have flowers galore, thanks to everyone for making her day so special.”
