A WOMAN has been banned from driving for refusing to give police the name of a driver suspected of committing an offence.
Deirdre Middleton, of Marthall Lane, Ollerton, Knutsford, was found guilty of the offence at Preston Magistrates Court on November 30.
The 65-year-old was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for six months ‘due to repeat offending’ at a hearing on December 29.

A police officer had requested the name of the driver of a vehicle on June 17, last year.
The motorist was alleged to have been guilty of a road traffic offence in Preston on that day, the court heard.
Middleton was fined £660 and ordered to pay £90 costs and £264 victim surcharge.
Her driving licence was also endorsed with six penalty points.
The defendant was given until January 26 to pay the £1,014 court bill.
