POLICE appealing for help in tracing a man wanted in connection with a sexual offence that happened seven years ago have located him.
Detectives wanted to speak to Chikondi Mwale, 45, about a sexual offence which occurred in May 2015, in Handforth.
He has since been located and charged with failing to comply with a court order.
Police originally put out an appeal after recent developments suggested Mwale had returned to the UK.
At the time, detective constable Tom Towe said: “We understand that the public will have concerns regarding the length of time that has passed since this incident occurred however this does not mean we haven’t been working on this case and to locate Mwale.
“We have followed several enquiries over the years which revealed to us that Mwale had left the country.
“However, after recent developments, we now believe that Mwale has recently returned to the UK."
