Housebuilder Bellway, which is constructing new homes in the town’s Park Gate Village development, has donated £250 to the charity.
Bellway sales director Grace Yarlett said: “We are committed to supporting the local communities around our developments.
“When we heard about the work of The Toy Appeal we wanted to make a contribution. More people are facing increased financial pressures this year and we hope our small contribution will go some way to helping bring a little extra sparkle to needy families.”
Dee Drake, who founded The Toy Appeal with husband Chris, said: “It would not be possible to do what we do without the support that we receive from local businesses and members of the public and we hugely appreciate this kind gesture from Bellway.
“We believe that every child deserves to experience the magic of Christmas morning.
“This donation will go towards the purchase of new toys to suit the families that we support.”
Social workers, schools, women’s refuges, food banks and drop-in centres can refer a child or family to The Toy Appeal who will ensure that they have a sack of toys to open on Christmas morning.
