A MUCH-LOVED folk band is performing to help families in crisis.
Houghton Weavers is staging a charity concert to raise funds for Knutsford foodbank and the Welcome community hub in Longridge.
The trio will bring their own unique brand of comedy and contemporary folk music to St John’s Parish Church in Knutsford on Friday, November 18.
Local singer songwriter Chris Tavener will also be playing his guitar and entertaining guests with his biting sense of humour and acerbic wit.

Chris, from Northwich, won acclaim on BBC 6 Music with Mark Radcliffe and performed at this year’s Knutsford Music Festival.
The event is being organised Knutsford Lions.
Lions president Paul Buttrick said: “This will be a wonderful Knutsford night out to support two great local charities.
“We look forward to seeing a lot of people in this beautiful venue.”
A bar will be provided by Lost and Found and there will be a prize draw.
Guests are invited to bring along a non-perishable food item to donate to Hope Central, such as coffee, tinned meat and vegetables or pasta.
Doors open at 6.45pm and the concert starts at 7.30pm.
