A BIN lorry overturned on the M6 northbound after a crash, closing the motorway for several hours.
The heavy goods vehicle was involved in a collision with a stationary Vauxhall Corsa.
The incident happened shortly after 8am on Tuesday, October 11 between junction 17 for Sandbach and junction 18 for Middlewich.
One person in the lorry sustained an arm injury but, thankfully no-one was trapped.
The crash caused long delays as the entire motorway was shut for several hours.
A spokesman for Cheshire police said: “Officers were called at 8.04am to the M6 northbound following reports of a collision involving a stationary Vaxuhall Corsa and a bin lorry.
“As a result of the collision, the bin lorry has overturned.
“One occupant of the lorry has sustained an injury to their arm.
“The scene has since been cleared and all lanes have now reopened.”
Middlewich firefighters called to the scene posted on social media: “On arrival we discovered no persons trapped and minor injuries so made the vehicles safe for recovery.
“We thank everyone for their patience.”
