A NURSERY is celebrating after being hailed ‘outstanding’ in an Ofsted inspection.
Bright Horizons Clairmont Day Nursery and Preschool in Wilmslow was awarded the top rating in all four categories, quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development and leadership and management.
Staff and pupils were highly commended.

In a detailed report, an inspector said: “Children are extremely confident.
“The expectation for children’s vocabulary and understanding are very high.
“All parents are exceptionally pleased with the progress that their children make.
“They speak highly of the passionate and dedicated staff and management team.”
The inspector observed sessions provided indoors and outside and visited all areas of the nursery.
Children and their families were interviewed.
The inspector was impressed by everything she saw and all the feedback she received.
“The curriculum is carefully planned to ensure that the children have an array of opportunities and experiences that precisely focus on supporting children to progress,” she said.
“Staff are extremely skilled in ensuring that learning follows a sequence, from babies to children.
“The inspirational outdoor space is carefully designed.
“Interactions between adults and children are exemplary.
“In all rooms, children flourish and are confident in communicating.”
The way children’s views are heard through a nursery council was commended.
Children are taught about democracy, and as a result, are extremely self confident and very positive.
Nursery manager Angela Brandwood-Greene said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have achieved ‘outstanding’.
“ I am particularly delighted that the inspector acknowledged that the views of our children are of the highest priority, the interactions between adults and children are exemplary and our inspirational outdoor spaces are carefully designed, where every space has been developed into a learning opportunity for all children.
“I am so proud of my whole nursery team.
“Their passion for the children and commitment to our nursery really shone through on the day, showing the inspector what it is like to be a child every day at our outstanding nursery.”
