PART of a lorry's roof was torn off after a HGV crashed into a bridge on the M6 near Middlewich.
Emergency services were called to the scene on the southbound carriageway between junction 19, for Knutsford, and junction 18, at around 9.40pm last night (September 19).
All four lanes of the motorway were closed while the incident was dealt with by Cheshire Police and National Highways officers.
No injuries were reported from the incident, but long delays built up in the area as debris had to be cleared from the carriageway.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “At around 9.40pm on Monday, September 19, a report was received that a HGV had collided with a bridge on the M6 between junction 19 to junction 18.
“No injuries were reported.”
Lanes two to four had reopened by 11pm, with traffic was flowing freely by midnight.
