Tributes are pouring in as Knutsford mourns the loss of the Queen.
A book of condolence has been opened at the council offices and a special civic service is being held next week.
Touching messages have been left by residents capturing the Queen’s dedication and devotion during her 70-year reign.
Town mayor Cllr Mike Houghton said: “Today, we mourn the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Our thoughts and prayers are with the royal family at this time.
“I know that this loss will be felt deeply by everyone in our town and throughout our country and the Commonwealth.
“The Queen served our nation for 70 glorious years, earning the respect, admiration and love of all her people.
“This will be a difficult time for us all but I know we will all look after our family, friends and neighbours as we look back over the Queen's remarkable life and mourn her death.”

The mayor will be laying flowers in memory of the Queen at the council offices at 7.30pm on Friday, September 9.
A tree planted to honour her platinum jubilee earlier this year has been chosen as the focal point for the town’s tributes.
The local community is invited to join him to pay their own respects.
The mayor will read a proclamation of accession of His Majesty King Charles III from the steps of the council offices at 4pm on Sunday, September 11.
A special civic service will be held at St John’s Church on Sunday, September 18 in memory of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
All members of the community are invited to attend.
The book of condolence will be open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
