There will be dedicated soft tissue and orthopaedic operating theatres and a purpose-built dental theatre.
The expansion offers increased capacity, advanced veterinary services and will create six new jobs in Knutsford for vets, nurses and administrative staff.
The extension marks the surgery’s commitment to being the town’s leading independent practice, according to husband and wife team Drs Paul and Charlie Adams.
“It’s important to us that we keep up with advancements in veterinary medicine and surgery,” said the couple.
“Our expansion will ensure that we are offering the best veterinary care in the region and that our highly qualified clinicians can offer honest, tailored care using the best facilities.”
The new surgery will further enhance the owner and pet experience, whilst continuing Knutsford Vets’ ambition to become carbon neutral.
The expansion will be sustainably built, featuring environmentally-friendly and efficient structural insulated panels.
Solar power and specialist LED lighting will further help the practice towards their goal of being carbon neutral.
The practice will have four larger consultation rooms offering increased capacity to care for the region’s pets.
A dedicated emergency and bereavement room is being built to create a space where owners can receive private, specialist support during what can be very difficult times.
The waiting room and reception will be bigger, with separate areas for cats and dogs to create a more relaxed environment before appointments.
A coffee bar is being added for increased comfort.
Cat and dog wards are being made larger.
Bespoke kennels will have glass doors, creating a more homely atmosphere Multiple new operating theatres are being built, with separate theatres for soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries, to allow a range of procedures from lump removals to hip replacements.
A new purpose-built theatre for dentistry is being built to allow the team to provide unparalleled dentistry and oral surgery treatments, a service led by Dr Charlie Adams.
These new features come alongside existing benefits including a large, free car park, spacious garden area, a fully equipped, modern laboratory for rapid testing and diagnostics and access to some of the most qualified vets in the area with certificates in dermatology and ophthalmology.
An internal medicine specialist will be available from next month.
Work on the expansion will cause minimal disruption to the day-to-day operations due to prefab building techniques being employed.
