A MAN has avoided prison after 'persistently breaching' court restraining orders.

Samuel Arrowsmith, of Longridge, Knutsford, pleaded guilty to contravening a restraining order at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on August 8.

The 24-year-old admitted entering the home of a man between April 15 and August 3, this year after being prohibited to do so by Chester magistrates on February 2.

The defendant also pleaded guilty to breaching another restraining order by contacting a woman between July 1 and July 31 this year, after being prohibited from seeing her by Greater Manchester magistrates on October 6, last year.

Arrowsmith was given a 12-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months to run concurrently for each breach, because the offences were 'so serious’, the court heard.

The defendant was given a suspended jail term because of ‘persistent breaches’ against a ‘vulnerable victim’.

He must now complete 60 hours of unpaid supervised work within the next year.

Magistrates took his guilty plea into consideration when imposing the sentence.

The defendant also admitted a third breach, committing an offence whist a community order was in force.

Arrowsmith had been convicted of two assaults and two offences of criminal damage at Chester Magistrates Court on February 14 this year.

Warrington magistrates decided to take no action on this breach.

The defendant was ordered to pay £128 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

The court granted him permission to pay the £213 penalty by September 2.
