DRIVERS had to endure long delays heading south on the M6 after a crash this afternoon (Sunday, July 31).
National Highways say the crash happened at around 1pm and ambulances were immediately sent to the scene to check on everyone involved.
Two of the four lanes were closed as recovery teams made their way to the scene with delays of up to 40 minutes expected for those stuck in the queues.
However, just after 2.30pm, National Highways confirmed all lanes had re-opened as the agency thanked the public for their patience.
All lanes are now open on the #M6 southbound between J19 #M56 #Manchester and J18 #HolmesChapel. Thanks for being patient pic.twitter.com/TJPpPrM53G
