A WINE merchant is expanding and moving to a new home.
Morgan Edwards, run by university friends Morgan Ward and Edward Speakman, was launched in Knutsford Market Hall in 2018.
Despite the pandemic, the company has experienced significant growth.
The pair are now opening new premises on King Street, with support from an increasing number of loyal customers.
Morgan said: “We are so pleased to be making the move to King Street.
“The larger and more prominent location will enable us to offer an expanded range of wines as well as hosting tastings, offering valuations, and collaborations.

“The location will raise our profile and customer base.
“It isn’t all wine, we also specialise in vintage port and rare whiskeys.
“Whether you pop in after work for a glass of wine, a bottle for Friday night, or are looking for a celebratory case, we can help.”
Morgan and Edward met at Manchester University.
Before launching the business, Edward had an extensive career in wine retail, trade, and fine wine and spirits valuations and Morgan had experience in bar management and investment banking.
After establishing a strong presence in the Knutsford community over the past four years, they are excited to become part of the high street and develop closer contact with their customers.
Edward said: “We’ve worked extremely hard through some challenging times.
“We diversified during the pandemic with our wine club and wine deliveries, and this helped to grow our customer base.
“Our customers are our friends and we love surprising them with our more unusual wines.
“We’ve proved there is a place for bespoke and specialised wine merchants in Cheshire and we are looking forward to the next chapter in our story.”
The pair are preparing their new premises for a soft opening in mid-August with a formal launch in early September.
