A MUCH-LOVED summer event is making a comeback after three years.
Cinema on the Carrs returns on Saturday, July 16..
Wilmslow Town Council funds and organises this community summer celebration which is free and allows friends, family and neighbours to gather and enjoy food, drink and films together in the beautiful surroundings of The Carrs Park.
This year’s event starts at noon with children’s entertainment and a food and drink court.
Films being shown on the big screen have been chosen by local residents, will be Encanto and Bohemian Rhapsody.
Encanto, a 2021 computer animated Disney musical will be screened at 2pm.
The food and drink court remains open in the evening.
Bohemian Rhapsody, a 2018 biographical musical about the life of Freddie Mercury, will be shown at 7.30pm.
Cllr Frank McCarthy, chairman of Wilmslow Town Council chairman said:“We are delighted to welcome Cinema on The Carrs back after a three year break due to Covid.
“The event is always hugely supported, bringing friends, family and the community together.
"We received very positive feedback about our recent Jubilee events, so it is wonderful to be able to bring people together once again for another free community event.
“Please add the date to your diaries, locate your picnic mats and we will see you on July 16.”
Wilmslow Town Council first introduced Cinema on the Carrs in 2015 when Mamma Mia proved hugely popular.
Seven years on, Cinema on The Carrs is one of the most important dates in the calendar for Wilmslow.
