POLICE have confirmed a man has been killed after being hit by a train in Cheshire.
Emergency services were called to the Manchester to Crewe line near Goostrey at about 2.20pm yesterday (June 26) following the incident.
Despite police and paramedics attending the incident, the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: "British Transport Police were called to the line in Goostrey, Cheshire, at 2.21pm yesterday (26 June) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended, however sadly a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
